Following the abrupt closure of the Christie’s-owned gallery Haunch of Venison last month, English sculptor, photographer and land artist Richard Long has headed back to his former dealers at Lisson Gallery. The move doesn’t come as much of a surprise since Long showed with the London gallery for years in the 1970s.
“I worked with Richard for first 15 years of his career and we’ve remained friends ever since,” said Lisson director Nicholas Logsdail. “I’m delighted to welcome him back into the fold.”
The gallery is planning an exhibition for Long, but details have yet to be confirmed. In the meantime, the artist is opening a retrospective of his prints at Museum Kurhaus Kleve on April 21.
